PR for Graduates of the Province of Alberta

Unfortunately, Alberta has not created a direct program for its graduates, but there are still some benefits to obtaining a diploma in this province. What are they?

Graduate Alberta Opportunity Stream - Graduates of educational institutions in Alberta, who obtain an open work permit upon completion of their program, can apply for PR through the Alberta Opportunity Stream, provided they have a contract from an employer and work experience. Meanwhile, other graduates or holders of an open work permit upon finishing an educational institution in another province do not have this right.

Graduate Entrepreneurs – Graduate Entrepreneur Stream. A program for graduates of public educational institutions in Alberta who start a business in the province. They need to obtain an open work permit upon graduation, pass the language at level 7, open a business with a minimum controlling share of 34%, have at least 6 months of experience in running their own business, and be aged between 21 to 49 years.
