New Brunswick has started accepting nomination applications, but there are IMPORTANT changes:

The federal government of Canada has reduced the number of nominations by 50%: from 5,500 in 2024 to 2,750 in 2025. A reminder: this could change if New Brunswick gives in to the federal pressure and takes in refugees that the federal government itself brought in… No comments…

Number of nominations planned for each New Brunswick program:

1,500 spots – Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)

What’s Included in the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)?

1.New Brunswick Express Entry

2.NB Strategic Initiative for Francophones

-Requires French language proficiency and a permanent job contract.

-A job contract can be replaced by an education diploma from two francophone institutions in NB: Université de Moncton or Collège Communautaire du Nouveau-Brunswick (CCNB).

3.Program for NB College Graduates with a Job Contract

-There is a specific list of eligible colleges.

4.NB Skilled Worker Program (This year, three subcategories were created based on work experience, graduates, and priority sectors.)

Work Experience: Requires at least 6 months of work experience and a job contract from an employer.

Graduates: Must complete an educational program that qualifies for a post-graduation open work permit and have a permanent job offer.

Priority Sectors: Healthcare, education, and construction-related trades. But here’s the BUMMER (excuse my French) – this program is suitable only for employers recruiting workers from outside of Canada. It is not for those currently in NB.

BUT! Take a closer look at the list of occupations that have been excluded from this stream:
Accountants, executive assistants, delivery drivers, restaurant managers, restaurant supervisors, cooks, bakers, bartenders, sales representatives and salespeople, servers, kitchen helpers, process control and machine operators in food production, workers in seafood processing plants, auxiliary workers in food production, and auxiliary workers in the fish and seafood industry.

5.NB Critical Workers Program – A program where nominations are given to workers employed by the specific employers (only 5 companies).

Must have 12 months of work experience and a contract from one of these companies:

·Cooke Aquaculture

·J.D. Irving Ltd.

·Groupe Savoie

·Groupe Westco

·Imperial Manufacturing Group

·McCain Foods, Ltd.

1,250 spots – Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP)

A program is designed for skilled and low-skilled workers (Tiers 0, 1, 2, 3, and 4).

This program involves the employer, as they must have a designated status (approved by the province).

After obtaining a designated status, the employer submits an application for the worker they want to retain permanently. This process is called endorsement.

Once the endorsement is approved, the worker can apply for permanent residence at the federal level.

ATTENTION! Take a moment to see the list of excluded occupations from this stream. The same occupations as under the NB Skilled Worker Program are now ineligible:
Accountants, executive assistants, delivery drivers, restaurant managers, restaurant supervisors, cooks, bakers, bartenders, sales representatives and salespeople, process control and machine operators in food production, workers in seafood processing plants.
