The number of nominations for 2025 is 215 (quota).
As of March 31, Yukon has launched a new points-based system for employers who wish to support their temporary foreign workers in obtaining permanent residency.
· The application window opened on March 31 at 9:00 a.m. Yukon Standard Time and will remain open until April 22 at 4:30 p.m.. Employers must complete an online form on the Yukon.ca website, providing basic information about the foreign worker they intend to nominate.
· From the submitted forms, selected employers will be invited to submit a full application. And of course, there are priority categories. Preference will be given to candidates who:
- Are foreign nationals who have lived and worked in Yukon for at least one year
- Are graduates of Yukon University (a sort of graduate-focused stream)
- Are Francophones or French-speaking candidates (Francophones prioritized once again)
- Hold a Temporary Measure Letter of Support – this letter has been issued since 2024 to candidates whose work permits are expiring.
Once the intake period is over, Yukon.ca will publish the number of applications received.
