New Income Requirements for Canada’s Super Visa in 2024

✅As of June 3, 2024, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has revised the minimum income requirements for obtaining a Super Visa. These changes include a 6.8% increase compared to last year.

✅The Super Visa allows parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens or permanent residents to enter Canada and stay for up to five years, with the possibility of extending for an additional two years.

⚠️Income Requirements for the Super Visa in 2024

The new minimum income requirements for the Super Visa based on family size are as follows:

⚠️Family Size New Income Old Income

5 people $61,920 $57,988

6 people $69,834 $65,400

7 people $77,750 $72,814

More than 7 +$7,916 +$7,412

✅Income is calculated based on the T4/T1 from the last tax year or the Notice of Assessment (NOA).

✅What is a Super Visa?

The Super Visa allows parents and grandparents to reside in Canada with their family for up to five years without the need for renewal. The application requires an invitation from a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, proof of income, and medical insurance.

✅The Super Visa is an excellent alternative to the Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP), which has limited application slots.

Documents that can be used to prove income include:

👉NOA from the last tax year

👉T4/T1

👉Letter from the employer, pay stubs, bank statements

✅The Super Visa application is submitted from outside Canada, and the visa is issued at a foreign office. An extension of up to two years is possible, but working on a Super Visa is not permitted.

The Super Visa is a great way for families to reunite in Canada for an extended period.
