ARRIMA SELECTION! February 26th, 2026
Montreal is finally included in Quebec's "diet"
On February 26th, 2026, Quebec issued invitations to ARRIMA in a way that many will remember. And the key here isn't the "fine words about resettlement," but the following fact: we all thought Montreal would be out but we were wrong. The key requirement in this series is simple: the candidate was in Quebec. That means Montreal is also eligible.
Volet 1 (FEER 0-2): Highly Qualified
There are two categories.
General category: 254 people with a passing score of 741+ were invited, and another 234 people with a passing score of 722+ (the requirements are similar: FEER 0-2, at least one year of experience, approximately 7+ speaking and 5+ written French, and the candidate is located in Quebec).
In-demand occupations category: 419 invitations with a passing score of 627+ – here, your occupation reduces the score requirement by 114 points! Priority list: engineering and technical skills, para-medicine/pharmaceuticals, counselling, social work, and ECE, trades (welding, line work, HVAC/pipefitting, carpentry, masonry, heavy equipment mechanics, electrical mechanics, crane operators).
Volet 2 (FEER 3–5): blue-collar and intermediate qualifications
General category had two passing scores: 104 invitations with a passing score of 756+ and 197 invitations with a passing score of 688+ (strong emphasis on experience in Quebec and oral French of 5+).
In-demand occupations category: 194 invitations with a passing score of 562+. There are medical assistants (labs/nursing/pharma) and construction/finishing: concrete, tiling, plastering, roofing, glass, painters, coatings, heavy equipment, construction assistants.
Volet 3 (regulated professions): the most comprehensive block
Main category—841 invitations with a passing score of 632+ (engineers, medicine, pharma, psychologists, physio/ergo, medical technologists, teachers, social workers, trades, etc.).
And an important point: there are 39 separate invitations for doctors (31100/31101/31102), and the source fragment doesn't specify a passing score—looks like an urgent priority.
There's also the trades category with the lowest passing score of the entire series: 30 invitations with a score of 452+. This is a clear signal: if you're truly needed, you'll pass.
Volet 4: Exceptional Talents
20 invitations (Talents d'exception).
The moral is simple: when professions are in demand, geography becomes not a key point. And that's why Montreal is back in the game this time.
Conclusion: Dear Montrealers, you are not being ignored! You too can and will receive permanent residency; Quebec has come to its senses! Learn French, create profiles, and seek help if you need it!
