IMPORTANT: To obtain Permanent Residency (PR) in Canada, most immigration programs require an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA).
If you already have an ECA from WES, make sure to carefully review what is stated in your report.
If your report includes the phrase “not comparable to a Canadian education credential,” it means that this assessment cannot be used for PR purposes. It indicates that your education is not equivalent to any Canadian standard. In this case, you will need to either validate a different credential or pursue education in Canada.
HOWEVER!
If your ECA states that your degree is “equivalent to a number of years of professional study” and does not include a line stating whether the degree is comparable to a Canadian credential, this ECA can still be used.
The absence of a statement that explicitly invalidates the assessment makes it acceptable for immigration purposes.
This is one of those situations where "the devil is in the details."
Be extremely careful!
