4,000 invitations: Express Entry for Medicine. But not everything is so crystal clear
Canada recently conducted a thematic selection of Express Entry: 4,000 invitations were received by candidates whose profession falls into the so-called "medical field." The passing score started as low as 475. It would seem that only doctors are chosen? But no.
Who passed?
Those who:
- have at least 6 months of experience (over the past 3 years) in one of the 37 professions from the IRCC list,
- have a language level at least CLB 7 (English or French),
- and have a higher education.
And not only doctors are on this list. It includes:
- social workers,
- veterinarians,
- nursing assistants,
- care workers for the elderly,
- even orderlies (if they are involved in working with medical equipment).
And yes, our clients also received invitations!
A social worker with Canadian experience.
A psychologist whose main experience was obtained from the country of origin; and in Canada he worked as an administrator.
A laboratory assistant for collecting covid tests in 2023, who worked at a medical clinic. The right strategy and the girl got an invitation to PR !!
The points were enough and the invitation came!
What's nice is that finally we had an adequate passing points. After all, the previous passing scores for the same category were almost impassable: 504 and 510 points! Even candidates with experience in Canada and good language skills dropped an idea to ever be invited. And now many people finally have a chance.
Conclusion: 475 points could be scored due to the Canadian experience (not necessarily in medicine), language and education.
