Temporary resident visas and Electronic Travel Authorizations
Canada is the hardest country in the world to get a permission to come. Based on the country corruption index and economic situation, you may need or temporary resident visa or electronic travel authorization (e-TA). Usually, Europeans and North Americans need only an e-ta to come. As for other countries – they need to prove, that they will come back to their countries after they visit Canada – that is called VISA.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic Canadian border are still considered to be closed with two exemptions:
You are fully vaccinated or
You are a close family member of Canadians
Extended family members of Canadians, wishing to come to Canada, need a specific travel authorization during Covid-19 pandemic together with their TRV, ETA or Super Visa. Please, consult us, for more details.
Visitor Visa (Temporary Resident Visa (TRV)) & eTA (Electronic Travel Authorization)
TRV (also known as visitor Visa) is a visa issued for travelers who intend to come to Canada to visit family and friends, for tourism purposes and holidays, or any other visit that is not related to work, study, or immigration in general.
TRV will require the applicant to submit an application to IRCC (Immigration Refuges and Citizenship Canada) where the applicant will be required to submit a list of documents and wait for his application to be processed.
Even though the process of getting visa is described as easy as one, two, three – its far from it. First of all, you have to keep in mind, that the purpose of visa is to check your eligibility to come to Canada. What does Canada mean under this word? You have to CONVINCE the officer, that you are worth to be issued an entry visa, more than that, it is indicated on Canadian official website that having a Canadian visa its not your right – it is a PRIVILEGE. That being said, you have to earn this privilege. When an applicant is applying for a visa, he undergoes through multiple screening questions: employment, finances, family ties in Canada and in home country, travelling history, purpose and length of a trip, criminality, medical admissibility, and many other factors are always taken into consideration.
To receive a Canadian visa is one of the most complicated packages, especially if this is your first Canadian visa or had visa refusals before.

eTA – is a simple process compared to visa issuance. It is issued to citizens of visa exempt countries. The applicant only needs to fill out a request online, eTA applications does not require extensive background checks and long processing time as TRVs
The applicant can visit Canada multiple times as long as the TRV or eTA is valid. But each visit must not be longer than 6 months. The applicant can apply for extension to extend his/her stay
Super visa is a type of visitor visa issued ONLY for parents and grandparents.
It allows the parents/ grandparents to stay in Canada for 2 consecutive years.
Together with the same usual visa requirements, it also obliges the sponsor (the child or grandchild) to have a proof of certain amount of income and a medical insurance for a parent.
